Skills Secession for Recreational Players

Caitlin Mooney will be hosting a skills session on field C on Monday, April 28th at 6:00pm.  All recreational players and coaches are welcome to attend.  Be sure to bring a ball and a bottle of water.

NOKC Fitness & Skills Summer Program

NOKC Announcement

This is a 4 week program that meets 3x a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 9-10:15am at NOKC fields. The first half of the session will focus on soccer related speed and agility; the second half of the session will consist of individual skills and small sided games.

Dates: Month of June, 2013
Ages: 6-10, Boys and Girls
Cost: $140 for the month (or $45 per week)

**This is so much better than just a normal speed and agility course as it is soccer specific, tailored to a sport that requires explosive sprints and change of direction. It will also improve their technique on the ball and their physical fitness in a fun but competitive environment!!

*THIS WOULD BE GREAT PREPARATION FOR 3V3 TOURNAMENTS!!*

Free Training Session

A free training session for all recreational players and coaches will be held on April 8th from 5:00pm-6:15pm on field 2 at NOKC.

All of the players attending will be asked to bring a ball and water to stay hydrated. Recreational coaches are welcome to come watch the session for practice ideas.

Open Position: Club Administrator

NOKC soccer club is looking for a dedicated and responsible Club Administrator with superior organization and communication skills. The successful candidate will provide a variety of support services and will professionally represent NOKC within the soccer community. The duties and responsibilities shall be performed in a Contractor capacity only.

Job Description/ Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General office and club administration
  • Checking and responding to all emails voicemails and social media sites regularly and in a timely manner ( i.e. 24hrs)
  • Setting up, organizing and running walk up registration 2 times a year at clubhouse
  • Upload registrations into the gotsoccer system through OSA as needed
  • Must be willing to drive around the local area as needed for Club related business
  • Provide support when needed for Club events, including but not limited to: registration, recreational coaches meetings, 2 major tournaments a year and summer 3v3live tournament
  • Maintain Club website, club-wide email communications and social media sites daily making sure that all current and accurate content is posted to the website as necessary
  • Periodically producing and distributing gotsoccer communications to all Club members
  • Act as the liaison between the governing bodies, OSA, various leagues, president, coaches and NOKC and OFC boards.
  • Update field status daily via website, hotline and twitter
  • Work with and support a variety of Board Members and Volunteers
  • Opportunity to work in conjunction with Marketing VP and bring in club sponsors for additional income
  • Organize and maintain multiple schedules (i.e. field, teams, referee, etc)
  • Attend monthly meetings and present status updates to the Board
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous office administration experience
  • An interest in and knowledge of soccer in general and within the soccer community
  • Effective communication skills both written and oral
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional and co-operative manner
  • Flexibility to respond to changing priorities
  • Self-reliant and entrepreneurial
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills

North OKC soccer club will be accepting resumes and holding interviews over the next few weeks.  Please email resume to [email protected], once resume is reviewed our interview committee will contact you and set up a convenient time to interview.  This is a part-time position. We would like to receive all resumes no later than midnight on April 15th.

Parent Meeting for U10 Players

Informal parent meeting for U10 players: being held march 28th at 600 at ESC at the North Concession stand to explain to the parents of u10 players about the next step in soccer. This meeting will provide information about our competitive program and also both club’s traveling recreational programs.  OFC’s Directors of Coaching-Jimmy Hampton and Stephen Phillips, will be running the meeting.

Energy FC Holding a Clinic for NOKC Players

OKC’s Energy FC will be holding a clinic for NOKC recreational players on March 28th at 6:00pm. This clinic is in conjunction with the coaching education that NOKC is hosting on the 29th that is being put on by OSA staff and being paid for by Energy FC. So for all the recreational coaches that are attending the Youth Modules on the 29th, please bring your teams in uniform to the NOKC clubhouse on Friday the 28th at 6:00pm for a clinic by Energy FC players. After the clinic, we will have an autograph signing/photograph session with the players. Please bring your sharpies and your cameras to capture this exciting event.

All NOKC recreational coaches need to go to www.oksoccer.com and sign up for the appropriate age youth module. YM I-U6, YM II-U8 and up. A coach must sign up to participate in the course. We encourage all our coaches to attend this course.

Red Earth Tournament

We would like to thank all of the teams that participated in the Red Earth Tournament this past weekend! We had a great turnout this year and we anticipate even more participation next year!

We would also like to congratulate the ’05 Boys Red team for placing 1st in the U10 Gold Division and the ’06 Boys White team for placing 2nd in the U8 Gold Division!
